Maruti Jimny Boot Space Capacity Explained In Images

Jimny, the upcoming lifestyle SUV from the Indo-Japanese automaker, is closer to its market launch. It’s the 5-door, long-wheelbase and more practical version of the 3-door Jimny that was showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo. We have already got our hands on its variant details, features and engine specifications. What’s new here are the latest images that show how spacious is its boot/luggage compartment. In the latest set of images, you can notice that the Jimny can store two trollies/luggage bags easily. There’s still space left for a small bag. Though, you have to arrange the baggage properly. When compared to its arch rival – Mahindra Thar, the Maruti Jimny has more boot space to offer. One must note that Mahindra never reveal the exact boot capacity of the Thar.

When launched, the new Jimny will be offered in two trims – Zeta and Alpha. The top-end Alpha trim has been packed with some exclusive features such as Arkamys sound system, a 9.0-inch SmartPlay Pro+ infotainment system, climate control, keyless start, cruise control, fog lamps, LED headlamps, headlamp washers, auto headlamps, alloy wheels and body-coloured door handles.

The standard feature kit includes a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, powered windows, colour MID display, reversing camera, wireless smartphone connectivity, seatbelt pretensioners, brake limited slip differential, electronic stability program, 6 airbags, electrically adjustable wing mirrors and steel wheels.

Both Zeta and Alpha trims are powered by a K15B, 1.5L petrol engine benefited with mild hybrid tech. The motor, with a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox, delivers a claimed power of 105bhp and 134Nm of torque. The lifestyle SUV has Suzuki’s AllGrip Pro 4WD system. The Maruti Jimny comes in 7 colour options including 2 dual-tone shades.
