3 Big SUV Launches Next Week – Maruti, Toyota, Mahindra

Next week we witness three big new car launches of this year. While Mahindra & Mahindra will introduce the all-new Scorpio-N on 27th June, the new-generation Maruti Brezza will go on sale on 30th June 2022. Toyota’s much-awaited mid-size SUV – Urban Cruiser Hyryder – will make its global debut in India on 1st July 2022. Here’s a brief on the upcoming new SUVs.

2022 Mahindra Scorpio-N Features

The Mahindra Scorpio-N, which is essentially the third-generation model of the SUV, will come with significant design changes, feature and mechanical upgrades. In fact, dimensions have also been changed. It’s longer and wider than before. Under the hood, the 2022 Scorpio N features a 2.0L mStallion turbo petrol and a 2.2L mHawk turbo diesel engine making 200PS with 380Nm and 132PS with 300Nm/175PS with up to 400Nm respectively. It comes with the 4X4 drivetrain system and the variant will be named Scorpio-N 4Xplor. More details here…

Comprehensive changes will be made to the new-generation Brezza. Interestingly, the new 2022 Maruti Brezza will be the brand’s first car to get electric sunroof. It will also come with the premium sound acoustics tuning via ‘Surround Sense’ powered by ARKAMYS, new infotainment unit with SmartPlay Pro interface, Suzuki Connect with over 40 connected features, a 360 degree camera, Head-Up-Display, 6 airbags and electronic stability control (as standard). For power, the SUV will use the updated K15C Smart Hybrid engine with the 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearbox options. More details here…

Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder

Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder will mark the brand’s entry into the highly competitive mid-size SUV segment in the country. While its official unveil event will happen on 1st July, it’s prices will be announced in the month of August or September 2022. The model will be built on Suzuki’s Global C platform and it’s reported to come with a 1.5L petrol engine.  The gasoline unit can be had with either the mild hybrid tech or Toyota’s strong hybrid system. The latter will get e-CVT gearbox as we have seen in the Honda City Hyrbid. More details here…
