5 Big New Car Unveilings in August 2022 – SUV, MPV, EVs

In August 2022, there will be five global car unveilings from Honda, Mahindra and Hyundai. The Japanese automaker is reported to showcase the production version of the Honda RS concept at the 2022 GIIAS auto show in August. Hyundai’s all-new Stargazer MPV will also make its world debut at the same event. Mahindra & Mahindra will unveil three new electric SUV concepts on 15th August 2022. Honda RS SUV

Measuring around 4.3 metre in length, the production-ready Honda RS SUV is likely to retain most of its design elements from the concept. It will feature a new front grille, angular wraparound headlamps, fog lamps with vertical slats, a faux skid plate and a tapering roofline with a Coupe-SUV like stance. The new Honda compact SUV will come with the strong hybrid powertrain carried forward from the City Hybrid. The Japanese automaker has planned two new SUVs for the Indian market – a sub-4 metre SUV and a mid-size SUV. The latter is reported to come in early 2024. More details here…

Hyundai Stargazer MPV

Hyundai Stargazer Teased

The South Korean automaker is ready to unveil its new Hyundai Stargazer 6/7-seater MPV in Indonesia in the month of August. The model is likely to come with a free floating touchscreen infotainment system, leather seats and ADAS (advanced driver assistance system). For the middle and third row occupants, there will be captain and bench-type seats respectively. The overall length of the MPV will be around 4.5 metre. It will have a tear-type profile with rising window line and a curved roof. The new Hyundai MPV could get a 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine borrowed from the Creta. More details here…

Mahindra Electric SUVs

Mahindra & Mahindra will unveil its new ‘Born EV’ range on this Independence Day at an event in the UK. There will be three electric SUV concepts designed by the UK-based MADE (Mahindra Advance Design Europe) division under Partap Bose’s supervision. Official teasers reveal that the models will feature distinctive C-shaped LED headlamps connected through a thin LED strip, ORVMs with installed rear view cameras, sporty alloys and slim LED taillamps with a full wide LED strips connecting them.
