Toyota’s all-new mid-size SUV is ready to make its first appearance on 1st July 2022. The model is reported to be named Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. Its India launch is likely to happen in August or September, 2022. Here, it will challenge dominance of the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. The higher variants of the new Toyota SUV will also take on a segment higher cars including Tata Harrier and MG Hector.
– The Toyota Hyryder will be the brand’s first model that’s co-developed with Suzuki for the Indian market. It will underpin the modified and localized version of Toyota’s TNGA-B (or DNGA) platform.
– While its official specifications are yet to be revealed, the new Toyota SUV is likely to be offered with 1.5L petrol engine featuring mild and strong hybrid technology. While the former will be good enough for 103PS, the latter will deliver 116PS.

– If reports are to be believed, the new Toyota SUV will be the first model in its category to offer AWD system. The 4X4 system, however, will be exclusively offered on the mild hybrid variants. The strong hybrid version will have self charging and FWD system. The Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder is expected to be high on mileage and low on carbon emissions.
– The Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder is expected to be offered with features such as Head-Up Display, a large touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, ventilated front seats, connected car tech, a 360 degree camera, multiple airbags and more.
– Styling of the new Toyota SUV will be different from the upcoming Maruti Suzuki mid-size SUV. Though, both models will share lots of design elements, features, components and engines.
