Maruti Suzuki recently rolled out the “new-age” Baleno premium hatchback in the country. Now, it seems the company is planning to introduced the 2022 Maruti Dzire CNG variant in coming days. Ahead of its official arrival, select Maruti Suzuki dealers have started accepting bookings for the model. In fact, the company has started dealer training across its showrooms. We have already seen spy images of the sedan’s CNG model featuring emission testing kit.
One must note that the Maruti Dzire Tour S, the fleet cab version of the compact sedan, is already retailed with the factory-fitted CNG kit. The new model is reported to come with the 1.2L, K12M VVT petrol engine paired to a CNG kit, offering power worth 71bhp and 95Nm of torque. The regular gasoline unit makes a peak power of 82bhp and 113Nm of torque.
The 2022 Maruti Dzire CNG will be positioned against the Tata Tigor and Hyundai Aura CNG models that cost Rs 8.29 lakh and Rs 7.74 lakh respectively. The Dzire’s CNG variants are likely to be priced around Rs 70,000 – Rs 80,000 higher than their petrol counterparts. At presently, the sedan model lineup is available within the price range of Rs 6.09 lakh – Rs 9.13 lakh. All aforementioned prices are ex-showroom.
If reports are to be believed, Maurti Suzuki will also bring in the CNG variants of its popular Swift hatchback and Vitara Brezza subcompact SUV. The latter is ready to enter into its second-generation in April 2022. The new model will be named Maruti Brezza and it’s likely to witness comprehensive changes inside and out along with a new 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox. The 2022 Maruti Brezza might also be offered with the stronger hybrid system instead of the existing mild hybrid tech. It will be packed with several segment-first features.
