2022 Maruti Celerio – 7 Variants, 6 Colours, More Power & Mileage

Maruti Suzuki recently confirmed that the second-generation Celerio hatchback will hit showrooms on 10th November 2021. Buyers can pre-book the model via the company’s official website or at their nearest Arena dealerships by paying a sum of Rs 11,000. Ahead of its official arrival, details of the new 2022 Maruti Celerio have been emerged on the web. As pre the leaked information, the hatchback model lineup will come in 7 variants spread across four trims – LXi, VXi, ZXi and ZXi+. All variants will be powered by a new 1.0L K10C K-Series Dualjet petrol engine benefited with dual VVT (variable valve timing) technology that adjust timing on intake and exhaust camshafts. Compared to the outgoing model that comes with the 67bhp, 1.0L petrol motor, the new one will be more powerful and fuel efficient. The new Dualjet gasoline unit will also be boosted with the segment-first Idle Start-Stop technology that will make it the most efficient petrol car in the country. It’s reported to deliver a mileage around 26kmpl. Both manual and AMT gearboxes will be on offer.

Built on the Heartect platform, the new 2022 Maruti Celerio will come in a choice of 6 monotone colour schemes including Solid Fire Red, Caffeine Brown, Silky Silver, Speedy Blue, Arctic White and Glistening Grey. In terms of features, the new Celerio will offer a 7-inch SmartPlay Studio infotainment system, new centre console and newly designed AC vents along with the more cabin space. The 2022 Maruti Celerio is estimated to be priced slightly higher than the current-generation model that cost from Rs 4.66 lakh to Rs 6 lakh (all, ex-showroom). It will continue to take on the Hyundai Santro and Tata Tiago.
