Maruti Suzuki is currently holding the majority of the market share; however, the rising competition has impacted the sales of the Indo-Japanese brand. Moreover, the company has no new launches for the past 2 years. However, things could change in the near future as MSIL is readying over 10 new cars for the Indian market.

Maruti XL7 Launch

The company will soon launch the new generation Celerio hatchback, which has already been reached dealerships for customer previews and dealer training purposes. The new model has received all-new design and completely new interior. It is based on the new-gen HEARTECT platform that underpins the WagonR and the S-Presso. The new model will be offered with 1.2L petrol, 1.0L petrol and CNG powertrain options.

Maruti Suzuki has also started testing the next generation Alto, which is expected to be launched in early 2022. The new-gen Maruti products will be based on the lightweight HEARTECT platform, which will allow MSIL to add more advanced and modern features and technologies.

Maruti Futuro SUV

Indo-Japanese brand is also developing the next generation Vitara Brezza, new Swift and an all-new YTB subcompact crossover. Moreover, the company will launch the 5-door version of the Jimny off-roader in the country in 2022. The YTB sub-compact SUV will be based on the Baleno hatchback, and it will rival the Tata Punch.

Maruti Suzuki and Toyota JV is preparing a new mid-sized SUV for the Indian market. The new model will be produced at Toyota’s Bidadi based plant. It is most likely to be based on Toyota’s DNGA (Daihatsu New Generation Architecture) that underpins the Toyota Raize subcompact SUV. It will rival the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, VW Taigun, Skoda Kushaq and the MG Astor.

Not just new models, MSIL will give a major update to the Baleno hatchback. The Baleno facelift is expected to arrive in the first quarter of 2022. Adding to it, Maruti will launch the updated Ertiga, XL6 and the 7-seater version of the XL6 – to be called the Suzuki XL7. The company will also launch the CNG versions of the Swift, Dzire and the Brezza.
