Maruti Suzuki has recently launched the new generation Celerio at a starting price of 4.99 lakh. Claimed to be India’s most fuel efficient car, the new Celerio offers an ARAI certified mileage of 26.68kmpl. MSIL is also working on a wide range of new cars and SUVs along with the facelifted versions of the existing models. The 2022 Maruti Baleno facelift has already been spotted testing multiple times on the Indian roads.
2022 Maruti Baleno Design Changes
Ahead of the possible reveal in first quarter of 2022, the new Baleno has been leaked on the web world. The latest spy shots reveal the final design of the 2022 Maruti Baleno facelift. Also, it offers a clear view of Maruti’s design direction for the future vehicles.
The leaked images suggest that the 2022 Maruti Baleno facelift will receive major update in terms of styling. The vehicle retains the cab-forward profile; however, all the body panels have been re-designed. The new Baleno looks wider than the outgoing car.
The spotted model looks like the base variant, as it has more black plastic cladding instead of chrome treatment. It also misses out on the fog lamps, wiper or washer for the rear windshield. The 2022 Maruti Baleno gets L-shaped wrap-around headlamps; the top-spec model will have LED DRLs and projector set-up. The vehicle gets a newly designed and larger front grille.
Also visible is a faux brushed aluminum outline that runs through its sides and merges with the headlamps. It gets a revised front bumper that accommodates a wider air dam with black plastic inserts and fog lamp enclosures on either sides. The hatchback gets a new tailgate design and newly designed L-shaped tail-lights along with a new bumper.
Interior – What To Expect?
Few days back, the interior images of the new Baleno have been leaked on the Internet. The hatchback will have all-new interior, which is premium and feature-loaded. It comes with a completely redesigned dashboard layout with new central console, a new larger touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay along with navigation and voice assist and new multi-functional flat bottom steering wheel.
The dashboard is finished in dual-tone with metallic accents. It is also likely to get connected car technology. The top-spec model will get cruise control and a semi-digital instrument console. The hatchback gets powered ORVMs, keyless entry, height adjustable driver seat, adjustable headrests and many more. For safety and security, the new model will get dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, reversing camera, seat belt alert, speed alert and others as standard.
2022 Maruti Baleno – Engine Changes?
No updates are expected to be made under the hood. The 2022 Maruti Baleno is most likely to retain the 1.2L naturally-aspirated petrol engine and 1.2L dual-jet petrol with SHVS mild hybrid system. While the former is good for 83bhp and 110Nm, the latter offers 89bhp and 110Nm of torque. Both manual and automatic gearbox options will be on offer. The current model is available in the price bracket of Rs 5.98 lakh to Rs 9.44 lakh. Expect new model to receive a minor price hike.
