It is no secret that Maruti Suzuki is preparing the facelifted version of the Baleno hatchback, which is likely to arrive in early 2022. The 2022 Maruti Baleno facelift has been spotted testing couple of times. This time, clear interior photos of the updated model has been leaked on the Internet.
The interior photos confirm that the 2022 Maruti Baleno facelift will receive all-new interior, which is premium and feature-loaded. The premium hatch gets a completely redesigned dashboard layout along with new central console. There is a new floating touchscreen infotainment system, which dominated the central console.
The dashboard is finished in dual-tone with metallic accents. The touchscreen unit will be compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay along with navigation and voice assist. The hatchback is most likely to offer connected car technology. The spy images also shows a new multi-functional flat-bottom steering wheel with mounted controls. It will also receive cruise control and a semi-digital instrument console.
The positioning of the push-button engine start/stop system in the 2022 Maruti Baleno facelift has also been changed. It gets powered side door mirrors, keyless entry, height adjustable driver seat, adjustable headrests and many more. For safety and security, the new model will get dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, reversing camera, seat belt alert, speed alert and others as standard.
The previous spy images reveal that the Baleno facelift will come with significantly updated design. It is likely to get a more prominent grille and front bumper, new headlamps with LED DRLs, and new LED tail-lamps and revised bumper. The side profile won’t receive many changes, except for the new alloy wheels.
No updates are expected to be made under the hood. The 2022 Maruti Baleno is most likely to retain the 1.2L naturally-aspirated petrol engine and 1.2L dual-jet petrol with SHVS mild hybrid system. While the former is good for 83bhp and 110Nm, the latter offers 89bhp and 110Nm of torque. Both manual and automatic gearbox options will be on offer. The current model is available in the price bracket of Rs 5.98 lakh to Rs 9.44 lakh. Expect new model to receive a minor price hike.
