The fourth-generation Skoda Octavia has started arriving at dealerships ahead of its launch towards the end of April 2021. While its official price announcement will be made in coming weeks, its deliveries will commence by the end of May. The sedan’s new-generation model will use the VW Group’s 2.0L TSI turbocharged petrol engine that will deliver power around 190PS. It will have a 7-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox for performing transmission duties. The same powertrain comes with the Skoda Superb. The new Octavia model lineup will miss out on the diesel engine.

Upfront, the sedan features a wider and slightly lower set grille flaked by the conventional single-piece LED headlamps. Save for the newly-designed 17-inch alloy wheels, the side profile remains unchanged. The sloping roofline, split taillamps and, angular tailgate enhance its new rear look.
The new Octavia has dual-tone interior with newly-designed dashboard featuring horizontally layered design and a new two-spoke steering wheel with knurled scroll wheels. There is a new 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Skoda’s SmartLink+. It gets connected car technology with eSIM functionality along with a new 10.25-inch virtual cockpit digital instrument console. The list of features also includes ambient lighting, wireless phone charger, dual-zone climate control, powered front seats, cruise control, multiple airbags, front and rear parking sensors, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, traction control and more.
The new-generation Skoda Octavia will face challenge from the Hyundai Elantra that’s available in the price range of Rs 17.83 lakh – Rs 21.10 lakh (ex-showroom). The former is estimated to cost between Rs 18 lakh – Rs 24 lakh (ex-showroom).
