Skoda has officially unveiled the new 2021 Kodiaq facelift in the global markets. The new 2021 Skoda Kodiaq comes with several cosmetic design changes along with upgraded interior. The 2021 Skoda Kodiaq facelift comes with a revised hexagonal grille, which gives it a more prominent and upright profile. The grille is flanked by slimmer headlamp unit, and there is a separate LED module placed under the main unit. The new headlamp set-up formed a new four-eyed look. At the back, the SUV gets LED tail-lamps with crystalline effect.
The SUV will be offered in three trim levels – Active, Ambition and Style – which sport aluminium-effect trims on the front and rear apron. The company has added new alloy wheels measuring up to 20 inches to the range of options for the Kodiaq. The SUV also gets new rear spoiler in gloss black, which comes integrated with brake lights.
Inside the cabin, the 2021 Skoda Kodiaq gets new decorative strips along with contrasting stitching on the dashboard and door panels. The SUV can accommodate up to seven people with an optional fold-out third row of seats. Ventilated seats including a massage function are available as an option for the driver and front passenger.
For the first time, the new Kodiaq gets perforated leather seats with multi-way electric seat adjustment, ventilation and massage function. The Canton sound system is another optional extra now offering ten speakers. The SUV’s virtual cockpit has a 10.25-inch display and four different layouts. The top-of-the-line Skoda Kodiaq RS variant comes equipped with a new 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine that produces 245PS of power, which is 5PS more powerful than the predecessor biturbo diesel. This engine is more than 60kg lighter than the TDI engine. The two other petrol engine options include a 150PS, 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol and a 190bhp, 2.0-litre TSI engine. The SUV also gets a 2.0-litre diesel engine, which offers two states of tunes – 150PS and 200PS.
India-spec Skoda Kodiaq is expected to be powered by a new 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine that churns out 190PS of power and 320Nm of torque. The SUV will have a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox for performing transmission duties. It will come with the permanent AWD (all-wheel-drive) system.
2021 Skoda Kodiaq India Launch
Zach Hollis, Director of Sales, Service & Marketing, Skoda Auto India confirmed that the new Kodiaq will be re-introduced in India in the third quarter of 2021. It will be the brand’s third launch planned for this year in India. Skoda will launch the new Octavia in April, which will be followed by the Kushaq mid-sized SUV in mid-2021.
