2021 Ford EcoSport Facelift Launch In October – Report

Ford India has been testing the updated EcoSport for a while in the country. While the automaker hasn’t yet revealed its launch timeline, the new 2021 Ford EcoSport facelift is reported to hit showrooms by the end of October (i.e. during festive season). The subcompact SUV will receive a few design changes and feature upgrades. Its engine setup, however, is likely to remain unchanged. The spy images reveal that the new Ford EcoSport 2021 will carry a newly-designed grille featuring chrome lining around the edges and new inserts. The inverted L-shaped LED DRLs, updated front bumper with a faux skid plate on the lower section and revised fog lamp assembly further mark distinction to its portfolio. What will remain unchanged are headlamp units, ORVMs, alloy wheels and LED taillamps. The automaker might also introduce a new colour option in the facelifted EcoSport model lineup.

Minimal changes will also be made inside the cabin. The new 2021 Ford EcoSport facelift is likely to come with new seat upholstery, updated connected car technology and upgraded SYNC3 infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android connectivity. The EcoSport facelift will continue to be offered in five trims – Ambiente, Trend, Trend+, Titanium and Titanium+. Features such as 6 airbags, automatic headlamps, reversing camera, tyre pressure monitoring system, cruise control with adjustable speed-limiting device, Isofix child seat mounts at the rear, illuminated glob box, automatic wipers and paddle shifters (AT only) will be reserved for the top-end Titanium+ trim.

As mentioned above, the new Ford EcoSport 2021 will be made available with the same petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol version will have the 1.5L, 3-cylinder unit making 120bhp with 149Nm and the diesel variants will source power from 1.5L motor delivering 99bhp and 215Nm. There will be two gearboxes on offer – 5-speed manual (standard) and 6-speed automatic (only on petrol variants).
