Tata Motors hasn’t updated the Hexa SUV with the upcoming BS6 emission norms. It is confirmed that the Tata Hexa will be discontinued from March 31, 2020. However, the homegrown automaker will bring back this SUV with the Safari suffix. At the 2020 Auto Expo, Tata Motors had showcased the 2020 Tata Hexa Safari edition.

The company will launch the 2020 Tata Hexa Safari before the end of this year. The SUV will receive the BSVI compliant engine with this update. The Safari Edition sports bolder exterior look as compared to the standard model. It will sport white interiors along with special Safari badging.

Tata Hexa Safari Edition Price

Powering the 2020 Tata Hexa Safari edition will be a BS6-compliant 2.2-litre, 4-cylinder turbo diesel engine. This engine will churn out a maximum power output of 156PS and a peak torque of 400Nm. In the BS4 form, the same powertrain offers 154PS of power and 400Nm of torque. Similar to the outgoing model, the BS6 Hexa will be offered with 3 transmission options – 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic. The BS6 Hexa Safari edition will be offered with a 4×4 drivetrain.

The Tata Hexa Safari is based on the Hexa 4×4 variant, but it comes with styling package to offer rugged profile. The model showcased at the Auto Expo was finished in a bespoke paint. The company claims that the new colour is inspired by the earthy tones of the outdoors. Other exterior changes will include a new set of roof rails and contrasting paint on the body cladding.

Inside the cabin, the Hexa Safari will have new upholstery and safari-badging on driver-side dashboard. In terms of features, the updated model will have 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 10-speaker Harman-sourced music system, rear parking camera, etc. Dual-front airbags, ABS with EBD, brake assist, rear parking sensors, speed alert, seat-belt reminder will come as standard. This edition could also receive hill hold assist, hill descent assist and reverse camera.
