The near production model of the 2020 Hyundai i20 hatchback has been revealed in the latest set of spy pictures. The partially camouflaged test mule shows the newly-designed large black cascading grille, large air intakes, LED headlamps and fog lamp assembly of the vehicle. Most of the design bits of the India-spec model will be similar to the European version. The hatchback will carry Hyundai’s new design language along with bits such as sportier bumper with sharper lines, 16-inch dual-tone alloys, a contrasting roof, new window lines, a new tailgate mounted spoiler, dual-tone bumper and sharply designed wraparound LED taillamps connected by an LED strip.
Interior of the 2020 Hyundai i20 will be more feature loaded and premium than the existing one. The hatchback will get a new 10.25-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system (largest in the segment) with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. With the generation change, the i20 might receive the Bose premium sound system with 8-speakers ad a sub-woofer, air purifier with virus protection, wireless charging, cruise control and LED ambient lighting. The list of features will also include a flat bottom steering wheel, automatic climate control, a digital instrument cluster, Hyundai’s BlueLink connected car technology, rear AC vents and premium upholstery. Engine setup of the 2020 Hyundai i20 will include a 82bhp, 1.2-litre petrol, a 99bhp, 1.0-litre turbo petrol and a 99bhp, 1.5-litre diesel unit. There will be three gearboxes on offer – a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed iMT and a 7-speed DCT.
We have reported earlier that the unofficial bookings of the third-generation Hyundai i20 have already been commenced at select dealerships. Prices of the premium hatchback will be announced in the month of November, 2020.
