Hyundai dealers have begun accepting bookings for the new-generation Hyundai i20 hatchback. The model has been in the news repeatedly over the past few months, owing the multiple spy pictures. Not only we do have its booking information, but we also have its launch details. Our sources have confirmed that the 2020 Hyundai i20 will arrive at showrooms in the month of November (i.e. near around this Diwali).
Sporting Hyundai’s radical ‘Sensuous Sportiness’ design language, the new i20 looks more evolved and premium than the outgoing model. The front end has been revised with a large cascading grille flanked by chunky headlamps with LED DRLs, more pronounced fog lamps and sculpted bonnet.
The sharp edges and creases all around the body, chrome window line, blacked out wing mirrors, strong belt line and shark fin antenna enhance its side profile. Compared to the current generation, the 2020 Hyundai i20 will have more goodies to offer. One of the major attractions is the larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system that’s compatible to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Similar to Hyundai’s new breed cars, the hatchback’s new-generation model receives Hyundai BlueLink connected car technology.
In order to enhance its premium experience, Hyundai might offer Bose sound system with 8-sepaker setup. Features such as wireless charger, air purifier with virus protection, a digital instrument console and leather wrapped steering wheel might also be on-board. In terms of powertrain, the 2020 Hyundai i20 is likely to receive 1.2L petrol, 1.0L turbo petrol and 1.5L diesel motors. While manual gearbox will be standard across the model lineup, the turbo-petrol will be exclusively offered with a DCT automatic gearbox. As pre the latest media report, the carmaker might also offer the iMT (Intelligent Manual Transmission) on the new i20 turbo petrol.
