Next-gen Maruti Suzuki Gypsy Rendered Based On Jimny

We reported earlier that Maruti Suzuki is readying the 5-door Jimny off-roader for the Indian market. This model will replace the iconic Gypsy SUV, which is no longer available commercially. The company has already started assembling the 3-door Jimny at its Gurgaon platform for the export markets.

Maruti Suzuki is expected to start developing the Jimny using locally sourced components from the mid-2021. The 3-door model could also be launched in the Indian market in 2021. However, the 5-door Suzuki Jimny will arrive in 2022-23. The new model will take on the newly launched second-gen Mahindra Thar, which has been receiving overwhelming response from buyers.

Next-gen Gypsy Rendered

Mightyseed has released pictures of the next-gen Maruti Gypsy neo-classic. The rendering shows a cool and rugged looking modern day Gypsy. Upfront is a circular headlamps and five-slot grille that resembles the old model. Other design highlights include flared wheel arches, flat hood, silver skid plate and dual-tone bumper.

The next-gen Maruti Suzuki Gypsy rendering retains the compact wheelbase, which plays an important role in making the new Jimny a capable mini off-roader. This two-seater lifestyle pick-up offers decent load bay, flared wheel arches with big alloy wheels and off-road tyres and appealing rear profile with tapered under-body. At the back, the rendering features LED tail-lights, tailgate mounted spare wheel and silver skid plate.
