2019 Toyota Yaris Launched with More Features, New Dual-Tone Colour

Japanese car maker, Toyota has launched the updated Yaris sedan in the Indian market. The 2019 Toyota Yaris is available at a price tag of Rs 8.65 lakh for the base J (Optional) manual variant and Rs 14.07 lakh for the top-spec VX CVT variant. The company has introduced 3 new variants – J (Optional), G (Optional) and V (Optional) – in both manual and automatic avatars. The company has also introduced new dual-tone exterior paint scheme.

The dual-tone paint scheme is offered on the V (Optional) trim, which is priced at Rs 11.97 lakh for the manual and Rs 13.17 lakh for the CVT model. The new J and G optional variants are positioned below the existing J and G trim levels respectively. While the optional variants get 3 airbags, the G and J trims get seven airbags as standard.

The new V (Optional) trim also comes equipped with new diamond-cut alloy wheels, blacked-out grille and wing mirrors and leatherette seats. All the variants are equipped with alloy wheels as standard. The V trim gets a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which was earlier offered in the VX trim. However, it misses out on Wi-Fi, Mirror Link, HDMI input and an SD card slot.

The Yaris VX trim gets navigation function and gesture control. Driver and co-driver seat belt reminder, rear parking sensors and a speed alert system comes as standard across all variants.

The 2019 Toyota Yaris is powered by a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine that is capable of producing 107bhp at 6,000rpm and a peak torque of 140Nm at 4,200rpm. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed CVT automatic. While the manual variant is claimed to return 17.1kmpl, the CVT unit delivers an ARAI certified fuel economy of 17.8kmpl.

In terms of safety, the Yaris sedan gets up to 7 airbags, hill start assist control, vehicle stability control, ABS + EBD + BA, tyre pressure monitoring system, front and rear parking sensors, front and rear fog lamps, seat belt reminder, follow-me home headlamps, and high speed alert. Some of the comfort and convenience features include roof mounted air vents with ambient light, 8-way electrically adjustable drivers’ seat, rain sensing wipers, cruise control, keyless smart entry, reverse camera, rear seats 60:40 split, etc.
