Aprilia RS 150 India

Seeing the sluggish demand, two-wheeler automakers are looking to introduce new models in India to drive sales. The 150cc segment is one of the most popular and fast growing segment. While Yamaha’s FZ and R15 series are doing maximum sales, Bajaj’s Pulsar 150 is the best-selling model in the Indian market. Here is a list of 2 upcoming new 150cc motorcycles to be launched in our market in the next 1-2 years –

Yamaha XSR 155

Yamaha is already selling the R15 V3.0 and the MT-15 motorcycles in the Indian market. Since both these motorcycles on sale, the company could also introduce the XSR 155 Retro-styled bike in the country. It is based on the same platform that also underpins the R15. Yamaha XSR155 is powered by the same 155cc, liquid-cooled fuel injected motor with VVA (Variable Valve Actuation) that powers the MT-15 and the R15 V3.0. Paired to a 6-speed gearbox, this engine produces 19.2bhp of power and 14.7Nm of torque. It gets dual-channel ABS and slip and assist clutch system as standard.

Aprilia RS 150

At the 2018 Auto Expo, Aprilia had showcased the RS 150 and Tuono 150 motorcycles. The company has officially announced that the new bikes will be launched in 2020. The fully-faired motorcycle will first arrive in our market. It will be slightly different than that of the Auto Expo model and will feature new set of bodywork as well as decals. It comes with a slightly different fairing,  re-styled fuel tank, larger pillion seat and repositioned footpeg mounts. In fact, the switchgear and rear view mirrors are revised for fresh look. Powering the Aprilia RS 150 is a 150cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel injected engine that is capable of producing 18bhp of power at 10,000rpm and 14Nm of torque at 7,500rpm. Power is transmitted to the rear wheel via a 6-speed gearbox.
