Keeping an eye on Maruti Baleno facelift, Hyundai has silently updated its popular Elite i20 hatchback. The premium hatchback receives new variant and several new features. In India, the Hyundai Elite i20 rivals the Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Honda Jazz.

The entry-level Hyundai Elite i20 Era manual variant is now equipped with parking sensors and Eco Coating. The Magna variant has been rechristened as the Magna+, which is equipped with host of new features. The new features list include Bluetooth, multi-functional steering wheel, voice recognition, keyless entry, daytime running lights , fog lights and front map lamps.

In place of the Sportz and Asta variants, Hyundai has introduced a new Sportz+ variant loaded with several high-end features. It now features 15-inch gunmetal alloys for single-tone variant and 16-inch diamond cut alloys for dual-tone variant. Other features include Arkamys AVN system with smartphone connectivity, rear parking camera & sensors, sliding front armrest and tilt/telescopic steering. The dual-tone variant also gets adjustable rear headrests. This variant also gets CVT automatic option and blackened outside rear view mirrors. The 2019 Hyundai Elite i20 is available the 2 engine options – 1.4-litre U2 CRDi diesel and 1.2-litre VTVT petrol. While the former is good for 89bhp and 220Nm of torque, the gasoline unit churns out 82bhp of power and 114Nm of torque, Transmission options include a 6-speed manual (diesel), 5-speed manual (petrol) and CVT automatic (petrol). Hyundai had launched the i20 facelift last year. The company is working on the next-gen Elite i20, which is expected to arrive in 2020. The hatchback is priced in the range of Rs 5.43 lakh and Rs 9.23 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
