TVS Motor Company has launched the 2017 TVS Star City Plus in the Indian market at Rs 44,990 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The new model comes with BSIV compliant engine and automatic headlamp On function. In order to achieve fuel efficiency, the 2017 TVS Star City Plus gets an all-gear electric start and an econometer. There is a special Molycoat piston in the engine to ensure reduced friction inside the cylinder and also provides better combustion. The new TVS Star City also has the function that manages the variable of speed riding conditions and weight of the rider to achieve optimal ignition curve. The 2017 TVS Start City Plus is available in 11 color options including Chocolate Gold, Black Gold, White Gold, Black Blue, Black Silver, Matte Grey, Oscar Black, Titanium Grey, Show-stopper Blue, Spotlight White and Celebrity Scarlet. It is powered by a 109.7cc single-cylinder engine that churns out a maximum power output of 8.4bhp at 7,000rpm and a peak torque of 8.7Nm at 5,000rpm. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a 4-speed gearbox. Weighing just 109kg, the Star City+ comes with a fuel tank of 10-litres. It has a ground clearance of 172mm, which is more than sufficient to tackle Indian road conditions.
