2014 Indian Auto Expo will be a grand affair- Details inside

The 12th Indian Auto Expo is just a month away and the event organizers are not leaving any stone unturned to make it bigger than ever. This is for the first time, the Auto Expo will be held at two separate venues. While the auto accessories/components will be conducted at the Pragati Maidan, New Delhi; the car manufacturers will showcase their new cars, concepts and technologies at the Indian Expo Mart in Greater Noida. Since its inception in 1986, the Indian Auto Expo has become a perfect platform for global carmakers to enter the market and showcasing their new concepts and products in the market.

Schedule

Starting from 5th February, the first two days will be for the media when automakers will unveil their products. For public, the doors for the event will be opened from 7th of November, where they would be able to see, touch and feel their desired cars. The Auto Components show will be held from 6th to 9th February at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.

Venue/location

The new Greater Noida venue has 48,000 sq. metres of display space with 14 halls, which is 30 per cent more than the Pragati Maidan location. New cars, SUVs, MUVs, two wheelers, three wheelers, and commercial vehicles will be on display at the Expo Mart, while the defense vehicles will be showcased at Pragati Maidan. It is expected that around 75,000 people will be going to see the show on daily basis and the organizers will have free shuttles from several metro stations in Noida and Delhi to reach the venue.

Cars to be showcased

This time, the Indian Auto Expo will feature around 41 OEM’s manufacturers including several new entrants. Chrysler (Fiat Group), Isuzu Motors and DSK Hyosung are few of the brands which will participate for the first time in the grand affair. Moreover, several tyre makers and lubricating companies would also present their products. This year at the Indian Auto Expo, it is expected that around 20 new cars and several facelifts and new generation models will be showcased. The cars which are likely to make their entry at the 2014 Indian Expo includes Datsun Go+ MPV, Honda Jazz hatch and Mobilio MPV, new Maruti Suzuki hatchback (A-Star replacement), Fiat Abarth Punto, Jeep brand- Cherokee and Wrangler, Fiat Linea facelift, Audi A3, Volkswagen Tiguan and several others.

Tickets/Online bookings

Online bookings of the tickets for the event has already been commenced and one can book it at ‘www.bookmyshow.com’, which is the organizers’ ticketing partner. Additionally, the visitors can also opt for home delivery of tickets at nominal charges in select cities for all tickets booked till 31st January 2014. On weekdays and in general hours, the ticket costs Rs. 200, while on weekends it is priced at Rs. 300. For Business visitors, the ticket has been priced at Rs. 500 for business hours on weekdays.

SIAM (Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers) has also announced that high security arrangements have been made for the 2014 Indian Auto Expo. A three layer security mechanism has been set up, which assure security and safety of people and others.
