Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch the much-awaited Ciaz mid-sized sedan in the Indian car market in the first week of October. The bookings for the car have already commenced at a token amount of Rs. 21,000. The vehicle has received an overwhelming response from car buyers and the company managed to record over 6,000 bookings for the car. If media reports are to be believed, the demand for diesel Ciaz is more than the petrol version. Moreover, the automatic variant of the sedan also recorded good numbers, thanks to its high fuel economy of 19.12kmpl.
The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is offered in both petrol and diesel guise. Its gasoline model gets the 1.4-litre K-Series petrol engine that produces 92PS and 130Nm of torque. The oil burner is the 1.3-litre Fiat’s Multi-Jet diesel motor producing 90PS and 200Nm of torque. While the petrol version of the sedan delivers an impressive fuel economy of 20.7kmpl, the diesel model returns an excellent mileage of 26.2kmpl.
Dimensionally, the Ciaz mid-sized sedan is 4490mm long, 1730mm wide and 1485mm high, and it has a large wheelbase of 2650mm. The top-spec model gets 16-inch alloy wheels while the lower spec models would be offered with 15-inch wheels. It is loaded with several features including projector headlamps; power adjustable ORVMs with turn indicators, automatic climate control, and keyless entry, rear parking sensors, rear AC vents, push-button start and an advanced infotainment system. On safety front, the vehicle gets dual airbags, ABS, EBD, engine immobilizer, etc.
