Mahindra is gearing up to launch the much awaited new Scorpio in the Indian car market. To be launched on September 24, the bookings for the Scorpio facelift have already commenced. For the first time, the Scorpio can be pre-booked through E-Commerce website Snapdeal. One can book this car through Snapdeal at a token amount of Rs. 20,000.
The Snapdeal homepage, which usually offers small merchandise such as shoes, perfumes and others, feature the teaser image of New Scorpio SUV with the announcement that “new generation Scorpio Bookings open”. After pre-booking the new Scorpio on Snapdeal, buyer needs to reach nearest dealer to make full payment and take delivery.
Vijay Nakra, senior vice president for sales and customer care at M&M’s automotive division, said, “We wanted convenience for the customer. Sitting from home, they can book and it is mutually beneficial for Snapdeal and us”.
The Mahindra Scorpio facelift would come in five variants- S2, S4, S6, S8 and S10. All variants will be powered by the same 2.2-litre mHawk turbo diesel engine producing 120bhp. Power is transmitted to rear wheels via a five-speed manual transmission gearbox. The vehicle would be offered in five exterior shades- Molten Red, Regal Blue, Diamond White, Silver Mist and Fiery Black.
