2020 Maruti Vitara Brezza Manual To Get Mild Hybrid System

2020 Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza facelift recently went on sale in the country. The updated model has been offered in 9 petrol variants cost between Rs 7.34 lakh to Rs 11.40 lakh (all, ex-showroom). Under the hood, the 2020 Maruti Vitara Brezza employs a BS6-compliant 1.5L K15B petrol motor that’s good enough for 104PS and 138Nm. Interestingly, Suzuki’s SHVS mild hybrid system has been reserved for the automatic variants.  

According to a leaked document, the carmaker will soon introduce the SHVS technology on the manual variants. The SHVS mild hybrid model, additionally, gets a 12V hybrid system with a 176kW electric motor. The latter one comes with features such as integrated starter generator, regenerative braking and start stop technology. The hybrid system improves fuel economy of the vehicle.

The SUV’s petrol automatic variants deliver a mileage of 18.76kmpl, while the manual version (without SHVS) promises fuel efficiency of 17.03kmpl. At present, the lineup includes four automatic and 5 manual variants. While the 2020 Maruti Vitara Brezza automatic comes in the price range of Rs 9.75 lakh – Rs 11.40 lakh, the manual models are priced from Rs 7.34 lakh to Rs 9.98 lakh. (all, ex-showroom). Design and features of the petrol-manual version with mild hybrid technology will remain unchanged. The list of standard kit includes an audio system with Bluetooth, power steering, tilt steering, manual AC unit, power windows, dual airbags, front seat pre-tensioner with force limiter, engine immobilizer and ABS (anti-lock braking system) with EBD (electronic brake-force distribution).
