Hyundai Santro Global NCAP Crash Test

Global NCAP (New Car Assessment Programme) has crash tested the Hyundai Santro and the hatchback has scored 2 star rating in the Adult and Child Protection. The tested model was equipped with driver airbag only. Read – 4 New Hyundai Venue Challengers Launching in 2020

In the frontal offset test, the new Santro was crashed into a barrier at a speed of 64kmph. The structure of the Hyundai Santro was rated as unstable as well as the footwell area.

The Santro’s model that was subjected to the crash test was equipped with seat belt reminder and driver airbag only. The hatchback showed good head and neck protection for the driver and passenger. In the CRS (Child Restraint Systems) test, the 3 old child dummy was installed forward facing with adult seatbelt and it failed to prevent excessive forward movement. The dummy’s head contacted the seat.

New Hyundai Santro 2018 Alloy Wheels

The 18 month old CRS was installed with adult seatbelt rearward facing and it provided good protection to the child dummy. The Hyundai Santro doesn’t offer ISOFIX connectors and three points in all seating position.

The new-generation Hyundai Santro was launched in India in October, 2018. Recently, the carmaker celebrated the hatchback’s first anniversary by rolling out the Hyundai Santro Anniversary Edition. Available only in the mid-spec Sportz trim, the special edition has been priced from Rs 5.16 lakh to Rs 5.74 lakh (ex-showroom).
