Tesla Model 3 Gets 5 Star Rating In NHTSA Crash Test

With this achievement, Tesla now has all of its cars with 5-star safety ratings.

The Tesla Model 3 sedan has been subjected to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) crash tests. And the electric sedan performed so well and earned 5 star safety rating. With this achievement, Tesla now has all of its cars with 5-star safety ratings.  The Tesla Model 3 received top rating in every single category including the frontal, side barrier and pole and rollover crash tests.

In frontal crash test, the sedan was involved in a head-on collision at 56kmph. The overall side tests included a pole test and a collision with a moveable barrier at speed of 62kmph. The subjected Tesla Model 3 was loaded with advanced safety features such as dynamic brake support, frontal collision warning, imminent crash braking and lane departure warning. Besides a range of safety equipment, the Tesla Model 3 comes with a host of comfort goodies including 12-way power adjustable front seats, 60/40 split fold-down rear seats layout, 15-inch landscape touchscreen with onboard maps and navigation, dual zone climate control system, Wi-Fi, LTE internet connectivity and a high-quality audio system with surround speakers, tweeters and subwoofers. Power source for the Tesla Model 3 is a 60kw hour lithium-ion battery pack that offers an electric range of 215kms in a single charge. This battery pack has power of 7,200 Superchargers, and accelerates 0-97kmph just in 4 seconds. It takes 6 seconds to complete 60mph from standstill. The sedan comes with both RWD (rear wheel drive) and AWD (all-wheel drive) system.
