Nissan Kicks will lock horns against the Hyundai Creta and the Renault Duster/Captur.

Nissan Kicks compact SUV has already been confirmed for the Indian market. While the official launch date and details are yet to be revealed, the carmaker has started testing the vehicle in the country. If media reports are to be believed, the all-new Nissan Kicks will hit showrooms in January, 2019. In the compact SUV space, it will take head-to-head against the Hyundai Creta and the Renault Duster/Captur.

Besides sharing the platform, the Nissan Kicks will borrow its powertrain from the Renault Duster. That means, its engine setup will include a 1.5-litre K9K diesel and a 1.5-litre petrol motor. On the Duster, the gasoline unit delivers 104.5bhp with 142Nm and the oil burner produces 108bhp with 245Nm. Design of the Nissan Kicks looks quite sporty. Some of its styling bits include a honeycomb grille with chrome surroundings, bold front bumper, angular sweptback LED headlamps, prominent character lines, floating roof with dual-tone paint scheme, ‘boomerang’ tail-lights and sporty rear bumper. Read – New Nissan Leaf Is Coming To India

Feature-wise, the Nissan Kicks will be loaded with several comfort and entertainment features. The global-spec Nissan Kicks achieved four star safety rating in the Latin NCAP (New Car Assessment Programme). The subjected model was packed with dual airbags, anti-lock braking system, ISOFIX child seat mounts, electronic stability control and seatbelts with pretensioners.
