Tata Harrier SUV: More Details Emerge In New Spy Pictures

Tata Motors confirmed that the production-ready Harrier will stay 85% true to its concept.

The new spy pictures of the upcoming Tata Harrier premium 5-seater SUV have emerged online. The prototype features slimmer front grille and headlamps at the front end. Similar to its concept, the spotted model sports steeply raked roofline, aggressive contoured side creases and large wheels. Round the back, the SUV is likely to get wraparound smoked taillamps as we have seen on the Tata H5 concept.

While the concept version of the Tata Harrier SUV was showcased at the Delhi Auto Expo in February, its production model is reported to debut in November, 2018. The carmaker has confirmed that the Harrier will go on sale in India early next year. However, the official launch date is yet to be revealed.

Tata Motors also confirmed that the production-ready Harrier will stay 85% true to its concept. It will be the first Tata model to be based on the second-generation IMPACT design philosophy and will use the brand’s new OMEGA platform. As of now, the interior details of the Tata Harrier are scanty. Though, it is claimed to have the class-leading Human Machine Interface displays. Other key features might include Harman-sourced ConnectNext infotainment system, automatic climate control, a large touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, rear air-conditioning vents, airbags, ABS with EBD, hill hold control and more. Tata H5X (Harrier) Concept Picture Gallery

Tata will offer the Harrier SUV with diesel engine only. It is likely to share its powertain with the Jeep Compass – i.e. 2.0L Multijet motor. It will be tuned to generate two power outputs – 148bhp with 350Nm and 170bhp with 350. The 5-seater version of the SUV will get the 148bhp version of the oil burner, paired to a ZF-sourced 9-speed automatic gearbox.
