In January 2017, Royal Enfield introduced the Classic 350 Redditch Series edition in three new colours – Redditch Red, Redditch Green and Redditch Blue. This special series motorcycles are inspired by the 1950s RE bikes produced in the pre-World War era facilities in Redditch, Brimingham in the UK. Now, the company has silently added the new rear disc brake models to the Classic 350 Redditch series.
Priced at Rs 1.47 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai), the 2018 Royal Enfield Classic 350 Redditch rear disc brake series is around Rs 8,155 more expensive than the standard model. The 2018 Royal Enfield Classic 350 Redditch edition comes with a 240mm disc with a single-pot caliper enhancing its braking capabilities. It’s the same unit that has already been used in the Classic 350 Gunmetal Gery and Classic 500. It continues to feature the 280mm single-disc upfront unit with a 2-piston caliper. For power, the 2018 Royal Enfield Classic 350 Redditch edition uses the same 346 cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that’s good enough for 19.8bhp at 5250rpm and 28Nm of peak torque at 4000rpm. Transmission on offer is a 5-speed unit. Suspension mechanism of the bike includes the telescopic forks up front and twin shocks rear unit.
Similar to the regular model, the 2018 Royal Enfield Classic 350 Redditch rear disc model features the ‘Redditch’ badge which was first used in 1939 on the prototype of a two-stroke, 125cc motorcycle – ‘Royal Baby’.
