Tata’s highly-popular compact SUV – the Nexon has crossed the 25,000 production mark in India. Production of the sub-4 meter SUV takes place at the carmaker’s Ranjangaon facility in Maharashtra. Just so you know, the Nexon achieved the 10,000 units production milestone within two months of its arrival in the market.
Aiming to further boost its sales, the home-grown carmaker recently introduced the Nexon Aero with five accessory packages – Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3. Now, the company is planning to launch AMT-equipped version of the compact SUV. Bookings for the vehicle have already begun at dealership level.

Currently, the Tata Nexon is the most affordable subcompact SUV priced at Rs 5.99 lakh – Rs 9.62 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Engine setup of the vehicle includes a 1.2L Revotron petrol and a 1.5L Revotorq diesel. While the gasoline motor makes 108bhp at 5,000rpm and 170Nm of torque at 2,000rpm and 4,000rpm, the oil burner pushes out 108bhp at 3,750rpm and 260Nm at 1,500rpm – 2,750rpm. Built on the IMPACT design philosophy, the Nexon is the best-looking car in its segment. Some of its design elements include projector headlamps with LED DRLs, shark-fin antenna, 16-inch machine-cut alloy wheels, roof rails and LED tail lamps. Interior of the subcompact SUV is loaded with lots of comfort and connectivity goodies including a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with GPS navigation, automatic climate control system, an 8-speaker audio system, etc. Safety features such as dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking camera and reverse parking sensors.
