Tata Motors, today, rolled out the much-awaited Nano GenX at Rs. 1.99 lakh – Rs. 2.89 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). Priced from Rs. 2.69 onwards, the Easy Shift model of the car has now become the most affordable automatic car in India. The new model has replaced the entire old line-up, except for the Nano eMax CNG that was launched last year. Though the Tata Nano 2015 model has received several changes, the most important updates are the new AMT unit and the openable hatch.

Exterior Styling
The new model gets revised exterior styling which the company calls ‘Infinity design theme’. The vehicle gets new front and rear bumpers with an ‘infinity motif grille’. The smoked headlamps come with black bezel and large fog lamps that enhance the overall appearance of the car. At the rear, the small car comes with an integrated rear spoiler and the openable hatch for the boot.
Colors
The new Nano GenX model is now available offered in seven exciting exterior shades- Sangria Red, Persian Rose, Metero Silver, Pearl White, Dazzle Blue, Royal Gold and Damson Purple.

Features
The 2015 Nano is equipped with some good comfort and convenience features. Feature list includes new three-spoke electric power assisted steering with active return function, air conditioning, Amphistream music system with Bluetooth, CD, Radio, USB and AUX-in, front power windows and remote locking. It comes equipped with a new MID unit that displays low fuel warning, distance to empty, average fuel consumption, trip meter, instant fuel consumption, gear shift indicator and digital clock. There is a creep function in the car that helps the car crawl when the pressure is eased off the brake pedal without having to press the accelerator. That said, most of the aforementioned features will only be offered with the high-end variants.

Engine Specs
Under the bonnet of the car is the same 624cc twin-cylinder, 4-valve petrol engine that powers the old variants. It churns out 38PS of power and 51Nm of torque. This engine is paired to a 4-speed manual gearbox that transmits power to the rear wheels of the car. It also gets AMT (Automated Manual Transmission), which is the same 5-speed unit offered on the Zest compact sedan, and comes with a ‘Sports’ mode to offer peppy performance. The AMT is available only on the top end- XTA trim.
The fuel tank capacity, too, has been increased to 24-litres from the existing 15-litres. It comes with a boot space of 110-litres, which is good enough to carry your daily bags.
