Tata Motors has planned multiple new products for the next year (2023) including EVs. The carmaker will also update its two popular SUVs – Harrier and Safari, which will be showcased at the Delhi Auto Expo in January 2023. While the new 2023 Tata Harrier facelift is reported to hit showrooms by mid 2023, the updated Safari will go on sale towards the end of the year. Minimal design changes will be made to the SUVs, while major upgrade will come in the form of ADAS (advanced driver assistance system).
The ADAS suite will offer advanced safety features including adaptive cruise control, front collision warning, blind spot monitoring system, collision mitigation system (CMS), lane departure warning system (LDWS), driver monitoring system (DMS), tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and electronic stability control (ESC). Both SUVs could also be equipped with a larger touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity and a 360 degree camera.
On the exterior, the new Harrier and Safari are likely to feature a newly-designed grille, tweaked headlamps, a new set of alloy wheels and revised taillamps. No changes will be made to their dimensions. The Harrier measures 4598mm in length, 1894mm in width and 1706mm in height, while the Safari is 4661mm long, 1894mm wide and 1786mm tall. Engine setup of the new 2023 Tata Harrier and Safari facelift will remain intact. Both SUVs will continue to derive power from the 2.0L diesel engine that’s good enough for 168bhp and 350Nm. Transmission duties will be done by a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
At present, the Harrier comes within the price range of Rs 14.80 lakh – Rs 22.35 lakh and the Safari costs between Rs 15.45 lakh – Rs 23.76 lakh. All aforementioned prices are ex-showroom. The facelifted versions are likely to witness minor price hike. The updated 2023 Tata Harrier and Safari are likely to be priced from Rs 16 lakh to Rs 24 lakh and Rs 18 lakh to Rs 26 lakh respectively.
