It is no secret that Jeep is readying an all-new three-row SUV, which is codenamed as D-Low SUV. The upcoming 7-seater Jeep SUV will be based on the Small Wide Platform that also underpins the Compass and the Renegade. A new rendering from Digital Artist Klebar Silva shows the possible design of the upcoming SUV.

Jeep is already selling the 7-seater version of the Commander as the Grand Commander in the Chinese market. Adding to it, the flagship Grand Wagoneer SUV is also in the works. The new 3-door model will be the most affordable Jeep 7-seater SUV and is likely to carry the Grand Compass moniker.

Jeep has already released the 2021 Compass SUV, which has no design changes. However, it gets significantly revised interior with new touchscreen infotainment system and connected car features. Adding to it, Jeep has also revised the steering column for lighter and progressive feedback. The new model also gets a new 1.3-litre turbocharged petrol engine that offers two states of tunes – 130bhp with 6MT and 150bhp with 6AT.

The Jeep Grand Compass rendering clearly takes inspiration from the Chinese Grand Commander. The front design has been altered in line with the regular Compass. This model looks significantly larger for the upcoming Grand Compass like product. The rendering has narrower headlamps, which are in-line with the new Grand Cherokee.

The upcoming Jeep Low D 3-Row is rumoured to have completely different design. It is likely to feature more upright and aggressive design with most of the styling will be inspired by bigger Jeep SUVs including Cherokee and the Grand Commander. The SUV will have a larger rear glass to accommodate the third row of seats. In fact, the length of the SUV is expected to be around 120mm more than the Compass.

The upcoming Jeep Grand Compass is expected to be launched in select international markets including India in 2021. The new model is likely to receive the tried & tested 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine; however, this engine could feature twin-turbocharging to offer power close to 200bhp. The vehicle is also likely to get a turbocharged petrol engine. The SUV will be positioned against the likes of the Volkswagen Tiguan AllSpace, Skoda Kodiaq, Toyota Fortuner and others.
