Upcoming Ford C-SUV Appears Online For The First Time – Claim

We informed you earlier that Ford will introduce an all-new C-segment SUV in the country in 2021-22. The new model will be jointly developed by Mahindra and Ford, and it will be based on the new Mahindra XUV500 platform. A new picture has been leaked online, which is claimed to be the upcoming Ford C-segment SUV.

The new Ford C-SUV will be unveiled in the second half of 2021. The spy image only shows the front grille and the bumper of the SUV. It features the hexagonal front grille with Ford logo in the centre, while the dual-tone bumper has wider air-intake. New Ford SUV India

The new Ford C-SUV will have completely different design and is expected to be offered as a 5-seater model. It will be positioned against the Tata Harrier, MG Hector and the Jeep Compass. Previous reports suggest that the new model could share close to 75% of the components from the sibling Mahindra XUV500. Ford engineers will also tweak the chassis and suspension set-up, and it will have Ford-like driving dynamics.

The new Ford C-SUV will be offered with 2 engine options – a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder, mStallion turbocharged petrol and a 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel. While the former is capable of producing 190bhp and 330Nm of torque, the diesel version churns out close to 180bhp and 400Nm of torque. Both manual and automatic versions will be on offer. Front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive system will be on offer.

The development work of the upcoming new Ford C-SUV is expected to begin in the first half of 2021. The new SUV is expected to share design cues from Ford’s global SUVs. It will have all the modern-features available in counterparts such as large touchscreen infotainment system, Internet connectivity, automatic AC, sunroof, etc.
