The long-awaited Toyota Urban Cruiser sub-4 meter SUV has finally been launched in the Indian market. This is the second model under the Toyota and Suzuki partnership in India. Toyota had launched the Glanza premium hatchback, which is basically the re-badged Maruti Suzuki Baleno.
1. Toyota Urban Cruiser Price
The Toyota Urban Cruiser is available in 3 trim levels – Mid, High, Premium. The sub-4 meter SUV is priced in the range of Rs 8.40 lakh to Rs 11.30 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

2. Re-badged Vitara Brezza
The Urban Cruiser is basically the re-badged version of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza. Except for the few design changes and different interior theme, the compact SUV is largely similar to the Brezza. In fact, both share the engine specs, features and other details. 3. Engine Specifications
The new sub-4 meter SUV is powered by the same 1.5-litre K15B, 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine that also powers the Maruti Vitara Brezza. This engine is capable of producing 104bhp of maximum power at 6,000rpm and 138Nm of torque 4,400rpm. Transmission choices will include a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed torque convertor automatic. With automatic gearbox, the Urban Cruiser’s 1.5L petrol engine gets Suzuki’s SHVS (Smart Hybrid System). The new Toyota compact SUV is offered in 9 exterior colour options (6 monotone and 3 dual-tone) – Rustic Brown, Spunky Blue, Groovy Orange, Sunny White, Suave Silver, Iconic Grey, Spunky Blue with Sizzling Black roof, Groovy Orange with Sunny White roof and Rustic Brown with Sizzling Black roof.
6. Design Changes
While the overall profile remains identical to the Vitara Brezza, there are some changes to the exterior design of the Urban Cruiser to keep things fresh in the market. It features a more Toyota-like face, thanks to the new twin-slate wedge cut dynamic grille with chrome and trapezoidal fog-lampo area. It comes with LED lighting package that includes dual chamber LED projector headlamps with dual function, LED DRLs cum indicators, LED fog lamps, LED high mounted stop lamps and split taillamps. 7. Interior
The new Urban Cruiser comes with dual-tone dark brown interior with black finish on the dashboard. Silver treatment can be seen around the air-con vents, on the dashboard and door panels. It gets the 7-inch infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and Smartphone-based navigation system. Other features include automatic AC, multi-functional steering wheel, driver armrest, rear passengers’ centre armrest, etc.
8. Respect Package
Toyota has officially announced to give a free 2 year maintenance for customers who pre-book the subcompact SUV as a part of its ‘Respect Package’.
Interested buyers can book the new SUV by paying an initial token amount of Rs 11,000.
9. Competition
The new Urban Cruiser directly rivals the Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV300 and Maruti Vitara Brezza. This segment will also witness the arrival of Renault HBC, Nissan Magnite and the Citroen C21 SUV.
10. Warranty
Similar to the Glaza and other Toyota’s, the new Urban Cruiser comes with a standard 3-year/1 lakh km warranty. Customers can also extend the warranty.
