August will be an action-packed month for the two-wheeler industry as several new models are ready to hit roads. The upcoming lineup will include two motorcycles and three scooters including the much-awaited Ola electric scooter. Here’s a brief on the upcoming new bikes and scooters that will see a release in August 2021.

1. Honda NX200

Honda 2Wheelers is ready to launch a new adventure motorcycle that will be based on Hornet 2.0. If reports are to be believed, the bike will be named Honda NX200 and is estimated to be priced around Rs 15,000 extra than its naked sibling. Its design elements could be derived from the China-spec Honda CBF190TR. The new Honda adventure bike will come with the 17.2bhp, 184.4cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled fuel injected engine boosted with Honda Eco Technology.

2. New-Gen Royal Enfield Classis 350

While the two-wheeler maker hasn’t yet revealed the exact launch date of the new-generation Royal Enfield Classic 350, the bike is likely to hit showrooms in the month of August. The 2021 Royal Enfield Classic 350 will sit on an all-new platform and packed with several advanced features including Tipper navigation system. Significant design changes will also be made to the bike. For power, the new Classic 350 will use the 349cc, fuel injected engine that does duty in the Meteor 350. The motor makes a top power of 20.2bhp and 27Nm of torque.

3. BMW C 400 GT

Unofficial bookings of the new BMW C 400 GT scooter have been commenced at select dealerships. Slated to launch in August 2021, it will be the brand’s first maxi-scooter in India. The C400 GT will source its power from a 350cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine benefited with the new ‘e-gas’ technology (updated throttle-by-wire system). The unit is Euro 5 compliant and delivers a claimed power of 33.5bhp and 35Nm of torque. The maxi scooter has an electronic speed limit of 139kmph. Similar to its global model, the India-spec version could be offered in three colour schemes.

4. Ola Electric Scooter

Ola is all set to foray into the electric scooter segment with a new model that will be launched in August. Its bookings were start from 15th July and within 24 hours it gathered over 1 lakh orders. The new Ola electric scooter is likely to be offered in two variants – S1 and S1 Pro. Buyers will have 10 colour options to choose from including 3 Metallic, 3 Pastel and 3 Matte. It will promise a range of 150km on a full charge. The electric scooter will accelerate 0 to 45kmph in 3.9 seconds and offer a top speed of above 100kmph. It can be charged via home charger or Ola Hypercharger network.

5. Simple One

Simple One Electric Scooter Price

Simple Energy will bring in its first electric scooter in India, called Simple One. The vehicle is slated to launch on 15th August 2021. Initially, it will be made available in three cities – Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad. The scooter will feature a 4.8kWh lithium-ion battery coupled to an electric motor. It will be capable to do 0 to 50kmph in 3.6 seconds and deliver a maximum speed of 100kmph. There will be three riding modes – Normal, Eco and Sports. Some of its key features will include 4G connectivity, Bluetooth-enabled, an IP67 rated touchscreen instrument display with in-built navigation and many more.
