Yamaha R15 V4 Front Design Inspired by YZF-R7 – Spied

Japanese two-wheeler maker, Yamaha is testing the new R15 V4 in India as well as in Indonesia. A new set of spy images have revealed the front fascia of the new Yamaha R15 V4. The spy images confirm that the new fully-faired motorcycle’s front face is a big departure from the existing split headlamp design.

The new Yamaha R15 V4 comes with all-new design language, which debuted in the recent YZF-R7. There is a single projector headlamp at the centre, flanked by eye-like DRLs (Daytime Running Lamps) on either side. This further gives it a more sporty profile compared to the current version.

The visor design has also been revised completely, as it now start from over the headlamp cut-out that extends all the way back. In fact, the rear view mirrors are expected to be mounted on the visor.

The Yamaha R15 V4 for the Indian market will receive upside-down front forks, confirmed by spy images. Also visible is the wider low set clip-on handlebars, which should improve the overall riding posture. The fuel tank design has also been changed, and it looks significantly bigger than the existing model.

In the current form, this engine produces 18.6PS of power at 10,000rpm and a peak torque of 14.1m at 8,500rpm. This engine is paired to a 6-speed gearbox with a slip assist clutch.
