Tata To Update Its Product Lineup In 2024

The year 2023 has proven to be a successful one for Tata Motors, as the indigenous automaker reported a net profit of Rs 3,764 crore for the third quarter, a significant improvement from the loss of Rs 944.61 crore during the same period last year. Notably, the introduction of the updated Nexon, Nexon.ev, Harrier, and Safari SUVs has contributed to the company’s positive performance in their respective segments. Tata Motors has set an ambitious sales target of 550,000 units by the end of the year, which, if achieved, would mark the highest-ever annual sales for the automaker.

Looking ahead to 2024, Tata Motors aims for substantial sales growth of 10 percent, applicable to both the financial and calendar year. To achieve this, the company plans to introduce all-new models featuring three different powertrains: internal combustion engine (ICE), electric, and compressed natural gas (CNG).

Tata Punch Rivals

Shailesh Chandra, MD at Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, disclosed the company’s intention to “completely revamp” its product portfolio with 2-3 new models across various segments. While specific details about the upcoming models were not revealed, it has been confirmed that the Altroz facelift, Altroz Racer Edition, and Punch facelift are slated for 2024.

Both the Altroz and Punch facelifts are expected to undergo noticeable upgrades both inside and out. The Tata Altroz Racer Edition, initially showcased at the 2023 Delhi Auto Expo, will be equipped with the powerful 120bhp, 1.2L, 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine, similar to the Hyundai i20 N Line. It will be available with a 6-speed manual gearbox.

Tata Altroz Racer Launch

The design and styling of the Altroz Racer Edition resemble the regular Altroz, but it features a blacked-out roof and bonnet with twin white racing stripes, a chrome bar spanning its width, Racer badges on the front fenders, an electrically adjustable sunroof with voice assist, alloys with an all-black finish, and a more pronounced rear spoiler. Interior enhancements include a new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with new software, a new 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, ventilated front seats, and a standard air purifier.
