Besides adding a new feature, the company has removed the rear parcel shelf tray from the XT trim. It’s said to be done due to the minor price hike. The Tata Tiago XT variant is now expensive by Rs 1,000. The updated XT trim is likely to reach at dealerships in coming weeks. One must note that there is no official word on the Tiago XT price and update.

The updated XT trim will continue to come with features such as follow-me-home headlamps, 14-inch steel rims with fuel wheel covers, body-coloured door handles and ORVMs, electrically adjustable ORMVs with integrated turn indicators, rear parking assist with display, central locking, paino black interior inserts and steering wheel, interior lamps, parcel shelf, 4 speakers, infotainment system with Bluetooth, USB and Aux support, front and rear power windows and auto door locks.

Tata’s entry-level hatchback comes with the BS6-compliant 1.2L, 3-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine pushing out a peak power of 86bhp and 113Nm of torque. It can be had with either a 5-speed manual or an AMT gearbox. The carmaker had discontinued the 1.05L diesel engine from the Tiago lineup with the mid-life update.

Recently, the Tiago hatchback crossed the 3 lakh production milestone in the country. Its 3,00,000th unit was rolled out from the carmaker’s Sanand based facility in Gujarat. In coming months, Tata might introduce turbocharged petrol version of the Tiago hatchback. In fact, the company has started testing the more powerful version of the hatchback in the country.
