Tata Motors has rolled out the 3,00,000th Tiago hatchback from its Sanand facility in Gujarat. The hatchback was launched in 2016 and received its facelift model last year. The Tiago was the first hatchback under the IMPACT design philosophy.
The Tiago is not only Tata Motors’ most awarded car but it also became the highest selling hatchback in the country in August 2018. Earlier this year, Tata Motors had launched the BS6 version of the Tiago hatchback earlier this year. The Tata Tiago is equipped with safety features like dual front airbags, ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) with Corner Stability Control (CSC), EBD (Electronic BrakeForce Distribution), Rear Parking Assist and others. The hatchback is available in petrol version only, priced between Rs 4.69 lakh and Rs 6.23 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
Powering the Tata Tiago is a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder Revotron petrol engine, which is compliant with BS6 emission norms. This engine is capable of producing 85bhp of power and 114Nm of torque. Transmission choices include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT (automated manual transmission).
The company is readying the turbo-charged version of the Tiago hatchback, which has already been spotted testing in India. The Tiago Turbo is likely to receive a 99bhp, 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine.
