Tata Nexon New Variant Launched – Price, Features Explained

Tata Motors has just rolled off the 4,00,00th unit of its top-selling Nexon SUV from its facility in Pune. In order to commemorate the production achievement, the automaker has introduced a new Tata Nexon XZ+ (L) variant at Rs 11.37 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Buyers can also get the new variant in Dark Edition trim with both petrol and diesel engine options. The subcompact SUV comes with the 1.2L turbo petrol and 1.5L diesel engines delivering power worth 118bhp with 170Nm and 108bhp with 260Nm respectively. Talking about features, the new Tata Nexon XZ+ (L) comes with ventilated leatherette seats, wireless charging, an air purifier and an auto dimming IRVM. The list also includes a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, voice commands, voice alerts, rear AC vents, adjustable rear head rest, fast USB charging, steering mounted controls, rear power outlet, height adjustable driver seat, rear seat armrest with 2 cupholders, 60:40 split folding rear seat, front armrest with sliding tambour door, push button start, rear wash/wipe, 16-inch diamond cut alloy wheels and the optional dual-tone roof.

Recently, the carmaker introduced the Tata Nexon Jet Edition at Rs 12.13 lakh along with the Harrier and Safari Jet Editions. Based on the top-end XZ+ trim, the special edition has been painted in a new ‘Starlight’ dual-tone colour scheme with a silver roof and bronze body. Design bits such as blacked out alloy wheels and silver skid plates at the front and rear further enhance its sporty appeal. Interior has dual-tone White and Black theme with a new bronze treatment and stitching.

If reports are to be believed, the company might bring in the Tata Nexon CNG in near future. Its test mule has already been caught on camera featuring emission equipment. It’s likely to come with a 1.2L Revotron turbo petrol motor with a CNG kit and a 6-speed manual gearbox. While its power figure will be slightly lower than regular petrol model, the fuel efficiency will be higher.
