The new 2022 Volvo XC40 facelift has finally gone on sale in India. The SUV’s updated model has been offered at an introductory price of Rs 43.20 lakh (ex-showroom). One must note the aforementioned price will be applicable for a limited time period. It will be increased to Rs 45.90 lakh. The SUV comes in a single B4 Ultimate trim boosted with a new 2.0L turbo petrol engine paired to a 48V integrated starter generator motor.
The setup offers a claimed power of 197bhp and 300Nm of torque. Compared to previous model, the new one is around 7bhp more powerful. Its torque output, however, remains unchanged. Transmission duties are done by an 8-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox. It delivers power from the front wheels only.
Major update comes in the form of the Google Android operating system powering its infotainment system. It offers multiple Google apps including Google Maps, Google Play Store, voice-controlled Google Assistant and more. The unit also supports over-the-air updates.
The SUV has also been packed with a 14-speaker Harmon Kardon sound system, a new advanced air-cleaner with PM 2.5 filter, wireless phone charging, electrically foldable rear seat headrests, heated front and rear seats, pilot assist, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, traction control, emergency braking system, hill descent control, eight airbags and blind spot monitoring system.
On the exterior, the new 2022 Volvo XC40 features a more angular headlamps with revised LED DRLs. While the front bumper has more angular creases and fog lamp assembly has been revised, its front grille remains unchanged. The SUV has been assembled with the 5-spoke silver alloy wheels. No changes have been made to its rear section.
The new XC40 continues to come in four colour options, namely, Fusion Red, Denim Blue, Crystal White Pearl, Glacier Silver and Pine Grey.
