Tata Nexon EV In Great Demand; Highest Ever Sales In June

Tata Nexon EV is proving to be a triumph card for the home-grown carmaker in the country. The electric SUV registered sales of 650 units in June 2021, which is highest ever since its launch. The carmaker sold over 4,000 units of the Nexon EV so far, thus making it the top-selling electric car in the country. At present, the electric iteration of the subcompact SUV is available in three variants – XM, XM+ and XZ+ Lux – priced at Rs 13.99 lakh, Rs 15.56 lakh and Rs 16.56 lakh respectively. All prices are ex-showroom.

Recently, the carmaker made two major updates to the electric SUV. The 2021 Tata Nexon EV gets an updated infotainment system and a new of newly-designed 5-spoke alloy wheels. The updated info unit supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay along with the ZConnect tech offering over 35 connected features.

Powertrain system of the Tata Nexon EV includes a permanent magnet AC motor powered by a Lithium-Ion battery. The battery pack is claimed to be resistant to water and dust. The EV features a 30.2 kWh battery and an electric motor that good for 129bhp and 245Nm of torque.

By using a fast charger, its battery can be juiced up upto 80% in 60 minutes. It takes 8-9 hours to get fully charged via a standard power socket. The electric SUV offers a range of over 312km on a single charge and accelerate 0 to 100kmph in 9.9 seconds. Tata Motors is offering an 8-year/1,60,000km warranty on the battery and electric motor of the Nexon EV. The electric car comes with a standard 3-year/1.25 lakh kilometre warranty and a 5-year extended warranty pack.

Recently, the home-grown carmaker announced that will expand its electric product lineup with 10 new models by 2025. It will include the electric iterations of the Altroz premium hatchback and the upcoming HBX based mini SUV.
