Tata Motors has silently updated the country’s largest selling electric SUV – the Tata Nexon EV. The updated Nexon electric SUV comes with two major changes. The SUV now comes equipped with newly styled 5-spoke alloy wheels. Adding to it, the SUV gets an updated infotainment system. These features were earlier introduced in the regular Nexon SUV.
Tata Motors has removed the buttons and dials from the infotainment system of the Nexon EV. The SUV features a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system that is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The SUV also gets ZConnect tech, which is a connected car tech offering over 35 connected features.
Apart from these two changes, the Nexon EV remains the same. It retains the features like automatic climate control, power windows, keyless entry & go, hands-free tailgate and cooled glove box. The Tata Nexon EV rides on 16-inch 5-spoke machine-cut alloys. The base variant retains the steel wheels with wheel caps. The SUV gets slim headlamps with integrated LED DRLs, LED tail-lights, signature grille with Humanity Line, shark fin antenna, roof rails, etc.
The electric SUV comes fitted with a semi-digital instrument console, rear AC vents, dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, stability control, etc. The Tata Nexon EV is available in 3 variants – XM, XZ+ and XZ+ LUX – priced at Rs 13.99 lakh, Rs 15.56 lakh and Rs 16.56 lakh respectively.
The Tata Nexon EV uses a 30.2kWh lithium-ion battery that powers a 129bhp, permanent magnet AC motor. This electric motor delivers a peak torque of 245Nm. It is claimed to achieve 0 to 100kmph in 9.9 seconds and offer a range of over 312km on a single charge. The battery can be charged up to 80 percent in an hour by using a DC fast charger. It takes 8-9 hours to get fully charged via a standard 15A AC charger.
