Ola Electric Scooter Ridden By CEO; Video Reveals Interesting Details

The Ola electric scooter is surely one of the much-awaited electric two-wheeler launches of this year. The model is likely to hit roads towards the end of this month. Estimated to cost around Rs 1 lakh, it will be placed against the Ather Energy 450X. Ahead of its official arrival, Ola founder Bhavish Aggarwal shared a video revealing interesting details of the upcoming electric scooter. His tweet reads, “Took this beauty for a spin! Goes 0-60 faster than you can read this tweet! Ready or not, a revolution is coming! #JoinTheRevolution”.

The latest video claims that the upcoming Ola electric scooter will offer largest boot space in its segment along with the class leading acceleration. It also said to provide “supreme ride comfort and superior cornering”. Official details of the new electric Ola scooter will be revealed in coming weeks. Though, it’s reported to offer a range of around 150km on a full charge. It’s expected to deliver a maximum speed of around 90kmph.

Ola’s new electric scooter will come with the home charger enabling customers to charge its battery via the regular power socket. The electric Ola scooter will also be available with the smartphone connectivity feature.  It will allow user to monitor the real time charging status via Ola Electric app.

Besides this, the company has established a huge EV charging network that will allow customers to charge their Ola e-scooter across the country. Called the ‘Hypercharger Network’, the EV charging system will include 1 lakh charging points across 400 cities. The company aims to setup over 5,000 charging points across 100 cities in India. These fast charging stations will enable users to charge the scooter up to 50% in just 18 minutes and a range of 75kms.

Ola’s newly setup manufacturing facility for electric two-wheelers in Tamil Nadu will serve as production hub for the scooter. The company made an investment of Rs 2,400 crore to build the plant in just 4 months. It’s the world’s largest two-wheeler production facility.
