Tata Motors might expand the Nexon EV model lineup with the addition of the new Dark Edition in coming months. According to a fresh media report, the company is working on the Tata Nexon EV Dark Edition to appeal younger buyers. Similar to the Harrier Dark Edition, the Nexon EV’s special edition will come in sporty Atlas Black colour scheme with darkened bits such as grey headlamp inserts, black-finished faux skid plates, black finished alloy wheels and a special badge on the front fender with the word ‘#Dark’. The sporty black treatment will continue inside the cabin as well. The Tata Nexon EV Dark Edition is likely to get dashboard with gunmetal grey finish, black seats and black door inserts. The special edition will be based on the range-topping XZ+ LUX trim that comes with some exclusive features such as premium leatherette seats, cooled glovebox, 6-way adjustable driver’s seat, 8-speaker Harman sound system, multi-drive modes (Drive and Sport), rain sensing wipers, powered sunroof and automatic headlamps.
No changes will be made to its powertrain. The Tata Nexon EV Dark Edition will feature the same a 30.2kWh lithium-ion battery pack powering an electric motor. The latter one makes power worth 129bhp and 245Nm of torque. The electric subcompact SUV offers an ARAI certified range of 312km on a single charge. Price of the electric Nexon Dark Edition is likely to be revealed in coming months. Though, it’s estimated to be priced around Rs 20,000 premium over the XZ+ LUX variant that costs Rs 16.56 lakh (ex-showroom). Currently, the entry-level XM and mid-spec XZ+ variants are available at Rs 13.99 lakh and Rs 15.56 lakh respectively. All aforementioned prices are ex-showroom.
