Tata and Mahindra To Launch Hyundai Creta Rival SUVs

Hyundai Creta has been dominating the mid-size SUV segment since its launch in 2015. Though, it has been facing a tough competition with the entry of the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. In the coming years, the competition will get fiercer with the entry of the two new models from Mahindra and Tata Motors. The Tata Curvv concept based SUV and a new Mahindra SUV will be positioned against Hyundai’s mid-size SUV. Here’re some key details of the upcoming Hyundai Creta rival SUVs.

Tata Curvv concept made its India debut at the recently-concluded Delhi Auto Expo 2023. The carmaker has confirmed that its final model will be offered with both petrol and electric powertrain options. It will be designed on the Gen 2 (Sigma) platform that’s compatible to different powertrains and capable to accommodate bigger batteries. The new Tata SUV will have a dual motor setup and AWD (all-wheel drive) system. Its electric range will be around 400-500km. The petrol version is likely to use one of Tata’s new gasoline motor. The Tata Curvv concept shows the brand’s new ‘Digital’ design language featuring triangular headlamps, full length LED light bar, neatly sculpted bumper, body cladding, squared-off wheel arches, coupe-like sloping roofline and notchback styled boot. New Mahindra SUV

The Pune-based carmaker recently released a teaser of its upcoming new SUV that’s expected to be the new Hyundai Creta rival. The model might debut towards the end of this year. The teaser reveals that the new Mahindra SUV will have an upright windshield, pronounced wheel arches, straight roofline and a hunchback rear. It appears similar to the Mahindra BE.05 EV concept that was showcased on 15th August last year. Mahindra’s Creta rival SUV will be designed by Mahindra Automotive Design Europe (M.A.D.E) headed by Pratap Bose. It will come with features such as ADAS, a large touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, premium audio system, an electric sunroof, etc. It could be offered with petrol and diesel engine options.
