All-New Mahindra SUV (Creta Rival) – What We Know So Far

Mahindra & Mahindra recently teased one of its upcoming new SUVs that’s expected to unveil towards the end of 2023. The teaser shows its silhouette and the model appears to have pronounced wheel arches, upright windshield, straight roofline and a hunchback rear section. While the carmaker remains tight lipped about the upcoming new SUV, the teased model shares resemblance with the Mahindra BE.05 EV concept.

– Rumour has it that the teased model could be the new Mahindra SUV that will be positioned against the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder and Kia Seltos.

– Earlier reports stated that the new-generation Mahindra XUV500 might return as the Hyundai Creta rival.

– The new Mahindra SUV will be designed by Mahindra Automotive Design Europe (M.A.D.E) headed by Pratap Bose. The model is likely to underpin the XUV700’s platform.

– The SUV could be offered with the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) as we have seen in the XUV700. The suite offers automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, high beam assist, traffic sign recognition and lane keep assist. – Features such as a large touchscreen infotainment system with the latest smartphone connectivity, an electric sunroof, premium audio system and multiple airbags will also be on offer.

– Mahindra might use the 1.2L turbo petrol and 1.5L diesel engines for its upcoming new mid-size SUV.

– The SUV’s production-ready version is expected to hit roads sometime in early 2024.

– In the company’s product lineup, the new XUV500 will sit above the XUV300 and below the XUV700.

– It could be priced around Rs 10 lakh for the base variant and Rs 17 lakh for the top-end model. At present, the Hyundai Creta and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara come within the price range of Rs 10.44 lakh – Rs 18.24 lakh and Rs 10.45 lakh – Rs 19.49 lakh respectively. All aforementioned prices are ex-showroom.
