Tata Altroz Reaches 1 Lakh Unit Production Milestone

Tata Motors has rolled out the 1,00,000 unit of the Altroz premium hatchback from its Pune based manufacturing facility. The model achieved this production milestone within 20 months of its arrival, beating all challenges and restrictions imposed due to the pandemic. With 5-star Global NCAP rating, the Tata Altroz is the safest hatchback in the country. It’s the brand’s first vehicle to underpin the Alfa (Agile Light Flexible Advanced) platform, which will be soon followed by the Tata Punch micro SUV.

With market share of over 20%, the Tata Altroz is the second top-selling premium hatchback in fiscal year 2022. The carmaker retailed over 7,500 units of the hatch in March 2021, with an average monthly sale of around 6,000 units in FY22. The company says that the attributes such as “futuristic laser cut design, highest safety standards, absolute comfort and thrilling performance” are working in its favour.

Tata Altroz iTurbo Mileage

At present, the Tata Altroz is available within the price range of Rs 5.84 lakh – Rs 9.59 lakh. While its petrol variants are priced from Rs 5.84 lakh to Rs 9.35 lakh, the diesel models cost between Rs 7.04 lakh – Rs 9.59 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom. The Altroz petrol can be had with either a 1.2L naturally aspirated Revotron or 1.2L i-turbo petrol engines making power worth 86bhp with 113Nm and 108bhp with 140Nm respectively. The diesel model has been powered by a 1.5L, 4-cylinder turbocharged motor pushing out a peak power of 90bhp and 200Nm of torque. All variants of the hatchback come with a 5-speed manual gearbox. For safety provision, the Altroz offers dual airbags, corner stability control, anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brake-force distribution (EBD), Isofix anchorages, rear parking sensors, speed alert system and seatbelt reminder as standard safety fitments. Features such as a free-standing 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, a 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster, cruise control, push button start/stop, a cooled glovebox, ambient lighting, projector headlamps with LED DRLs and rear parking camera are reserved for the top-end trim.
