Tata Punch Boot Space Is Bigger Than Altroz; Ground Clearance, Specs

Tata Motors is all set to launch the much-awaited Punch sub-compact SUV in the Indian market on October 4, 2021. The new model has already reached dealerships, as most of the details have already been revealed. Tata dealers have already started accepting pre-orders for the Tata Punch at a token amount of Rs 5,000 to Rs 21,000, which is refundable on cancellation.

A new report from a Tata Punch facebook group reveals that the new Tata Punch sub-compact SUV will have a boot space of 366-litres, which is 21-litres than the Altroz hatchback (345-litres). The top-spec variant of the car will ride on 16-inch diamond cut alloy wheels. It will have a ground clearance of 187mm, which is 7mm more than the Maruti Ignis.

Tata Punch Interior

The Tata Puch compact car will be offered in a single petrol engine option. It will be powered by a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine that churns out a maximum power output of 86PS and 113Nm of torque. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT (Automated Manual Transmission). It will offer two driving modes – ECO and City.

The AMT version will also come with Traction Pro mode, which improves the overall driving experience on bad roads. The sub-compact car will also get ‘Dyna Pro Technology’, which enhances the water wading capacity. The top-spec model will also come with engine start/stop system, and fog lamps with cornering function. We informed you earlier that the Tata Punch will offer a wide 90 degree opening doors.

Tata Punch Micro SUV

The Tata Punch will be offered in 6 exterior colour options – White, Grey, Stonehenge, Blue, Orange and Urban Bronze. The company will also offer multiple dual-tone options on the top-spec model. Feature-list will include 7-inch Harman-sourced touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 7-inch TFT instrument console, automatic headlamps, rain sensing wipers, cruise control, projector headlamps and LED tail-lamps, etc.

The new sub-compact SUV will be offered in 4 trim levels – Pure, Adventure, Accomplished and Creative. In terms of proportions, the new Tata Punch is 3,840mm long, 1,800mm wide and 1,635mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 2,450mm. It will sit between the Tiago and the Nexon.
